Solar Floating Resort by Michele Puzzolante

The Solar Floating Resort (SFR) is a unique hospitality concept, part habitation, part yacht and part submarine, totally self-sufficient energy generator, non-polluting and in unison with its natural surroundings.

SFR has been designed like a luxury yacht and a luxury hotel suite, with a fully submerged observation bulb. SFR reaches twenty meters in length, is designed for six people at sea and is ideal for living in marinas connected to front beach hotels.

2. A 360 degree panorama at Agia Sofia, Ikaria. See the strangely shaped rock and the Orion constellation rising from the other side few minutes before the daylight covers all the stars. The bright light is the over-exposed Moon. This is a photo taken at the middle of August. Orion is a winter constellation. You can actually see on the stars the change of the seasons if you stay up until

Mix faces up to 20 years in prison on the felony obstruction of justice charges and up to $500,000 in fines, according to the Justice Department.

“Too much flowrate — over 15,000 and too large an orifice,” Mix wrote at 10:25 p.m. on May 26, the first day of the Top Kill operation. “Tired. Going home and getting ready for round three tomorrow.”

BP you’re going to have to pay for killing part of the world, even though you worked tirelessly until 10:45 pm on the first night of Top Kill. We can only imagine how exhausting that must have been. One of your guys might have to be banished to a jail with a golf course and a private room with a stove to show you guys not to do that ever again.

While criminal charges are definitely a victory, hopefully this will spur more charges and more arrests, because there are dozens, if not hundreds of other people who should be held responsible for the worst environmental disaster in U.S. History. And a lot of other reasons too.

Without further comment, here’s human roid and noted thinker Jose Canseco giving us his thoughts on how global warming could’ve saved us from “My Heart Will Go On.

This is priceless!

(i mean look at that posture! He’s so DIGNIFIED mannnnn I’d be wobbling and flailing and I wouldn’t have even stepped on the thing yet)

i love the look of determination on his face.

it looks like he’s floating

Okay….I don’t usually reblog this kind of stuff, but that is AWESOME! Can he be our president forever now?

When aluminum was first used to make beverage cans in 1965, it took around 55 pounds of metal to make 1,000 cans. Today those same 1,000 cans weigh less than 35 pounds because we’ve gotten so much better at designing them. Aluminum replaced steel and tin cans and was prized for being highly malleable. It has the added benefit of being really easy to recycle; it can be reused indefinitely.7 interesting bits of environmental trivia

The 10-metre wide, helium-filled inflatable turbine, called the Airborne Wind Turbine (AWT), is able to produce more than twice the power that a conventional tower turbine can generate at the same height. Prototype by Altaeros Energies, a wind energy company formed out of MIT

This is a huge breakthrough for 2 reasons:

  1. The higher the altitude, the stronger the winds! As you get farther from the land the wind finds less resistance and goes at higher speeds which only means more power.
  2. This allows unprecedented mobility and flexibility to wind farms. You could practically chase the wind. Moreover, it would let you prevent major damage to your wind farm in case of hurricanes or severe storms. You would just have to ground your turbine-blimps and the next day you would be operating like nothing happened.

According to CNN, Obama will announce plans to fast-track the permit for the southern half of the pipeline. A source familiar with his upcoming speech told the news organization that the administration has the ability to cut several months off the permit process, which could otherwise take over a year. Senior administration officials would not confirm Obama’s plans to CNN.
