I’ll say what this guy wants to say, but can’t with eloquence. We, as a human race, need to get our proverbial “shit” together and start working together to solve real problems rather than being divisive twits shouting at each other. We’re reaching a tipping point in our society. Education is dismal (not to mention expensive). Infrastructure is literally crumbling. Yet we’re arguing over whether or not to eat at Chick-fil-a (our debilitating obesity rate would shout “NO, no it’s not okay”). Climate change is happening. It’s real folks. We can debate all day as to whether or not it is human caused (or confounded), but IT IS REAL. Either we learn to smartly live in an ever-changing climate or we will continue to see climate-induced death and destruction on the 10 o’clock news. The anti-intellectualism that has overcome our society is shameful. We need real thinkers; we need real doers; but, most of all, we need real collaborators to bring these thinkers and doers together to get big things done. I can see the shift coming. I know we have it in us as a human race to make big, consciousness-shifting changes. I only have one favor to ask: If you’re an obstructionist, get the hell out of the way!

Project 7 was started by a wealthy teenager when he took over his father’s gourmet dog food company and flipped it into one that sells everyday products. The company is backed by Christian beliefs; and donates 50% of the profits to causes in seven different parts of the world. Projects like providing wells to people without water, feeding the hungry, and planting trees to restore society and the earth.

Additionally, this water battle is made by Enso Bottles, which makes biodegradable bottles that are PET Recyclable and break down fully in 1-5 years in a landfill. Project 7 is based around Christian beliefs, but it seems this company ACTUALLY follows the teachings of the bible, a philosophy that gets thrown around quite a bit these days.

Kurt Mix, BP Engineer, Faces First Oil Spill Charges (UPDATES):

Mix faces up to 20 years in prison on the felony obstruction of justice charges and up to $500,000 in fines, according to the Justice Department.

“Too much flowrate — over 15,000 and too large an orifice,” Mix wrote at 10:25 p.m. on May 26, the first day of the Top Kill operation. “Tired. Going home and getting ready for round three tomorrow.”

While criminal charges are definitely a victory, hopefully this will spur more charges and more arrests, because there are dozens, if not hundreds of other people who should be held responsible for the worst environmental disaster in U.S. History…

When aluminum was first used to make beverage cans in 1965, it took around 55 pounds of metal to make 1,000 cans. Today those same 1,000 cans weigh less than 35 pounds because we’ve gotten so much better at designing them. Aluminum replaced steel and tin cans and was prized for being highly malleable. It has the added benefit of being really easy to recycle; it can be reused indefinitely.

This is a huge breakthrough for 2 reasons:

The higher the altitude, the stronger the winds! As you get farther from the land the wind finds less resistance and goes at higher speeds which only means more power.

This allows unprecedented mobility and flexibility to wind farms. You could practically chase the wind. Moreover, it would let you prevent major damage to your wind farm in case of hurricanes or severe storms. You would just have to ground your turbine-blimps and the next day you would be operating like nothing happened.

Keystone XL Pipeline: Obama May Expedite Approval Of Southern Half:

According to CNN, Obama will announce plans to fast-track the permit for the southern half of the pipeline. A source familiar with his upcoming speech told the news organization that the administration has the ability to cut several months off the permit process, which could otherwise take over a year. Senior administration officials would not confirm Obama’s plans to CNN.
